Submission Guidelines

General:

Thank you for trusting and considering Myrina Journal for your work.

Rolling Submissions

Submissions are open 24/7 and are FREE. We understand it's really frustrating as artists to wait months for a decision from a magazine to come out, and thus we'll strive to send out decisions within a week of submissions.

If you have not heard from us two weeks from your submission date, please assume that your work has been misplaced. In this case, do not hesitate to email us at myrinajournal@gmail.com

The team is looking for works that showcase the artist's voice in a creative or imaginative way. To preserve the integrity of the journal and its contributors, any hateful or oppressive works WILL NOT be considered for publication.

As of right now, we are available to previously published pieces, just make sure that the original publisher is fine with this. Checking for this is not our responsibility.

Opinion/Memoir Pieces

Open to anyone.

Please share some of your experiences/perspectives in an original opinion/memoir piece within 3,000 words. What makes YOU special?

Creative Works

Limited to women.

Please keep all written submissions below 3,000 words

Prose: an original story that provides great insight onto the writer's voice. We take most forms of prose including flash fiction, short stories, etc.

Poetry: all forms of poetry are accepted (free verse, sonnets, haikus, etc.). If your poem is an "after" poem or any type of erasure poem, please provide the original poem for us and give credit to the original author.

Visual Art: all forms of visual art are accepted, including digital art, mixed media, photography, etc. Please make sure that any photos of artwork (i.e. paper drawings, paintings) are of a high quality and can clearly be seen. Unfortunately, we will be forced to pass up many amazing works if the photo quality is not up to standard.

Submissions through email may be sent in the body of the email as an attachment. Acceptable forms are .docx, .docs. Please do not include any PDFs.

In the subject of your email, please include your FULL NAME followed by the title of your work. If you would like us to publish your school/graduation year, please include this information in the body of your email SEPARATE from your work attachment.

Please let us know if you are fine with any minor modifications.

We do not currently include artist bios on our website.

Emails are collected so we can inform you of the status of your submission, however, we will protect the identity of the anonymous artist.
